P52- Looking Back at 2016

This is it...we have reached the end and can I just that it has been one amazing ride! I am so glad I listened to my girl Candice and started this journey of shooting every week. Shooting not only brings me joy and satisfaction, but over the last year or so I have found that it is also very therapeutic. It has helped me to not get lost in the stress, uncertainty and all around craziness we have been living in. It helped me to keep things in perspective and stay grounded. Plus I improved my skills and I stumbled on my "style".

Thank you hon for joining me on this journey! I don't know about you, but I am supper pumped for 2017 and what lays in store for us!

P52- 51 Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Well it's official... I am the momma to a 4 year old! Warning I am going to be completely corny for a minute. I can't believe how the time has flown! She has gotten so big, obstinate, kind hearted, determined and very much her own girl. Yet it feels like just yesterday I was getting my first cuddle from her before she was rushed to the NICU for the next 3 weeks. Man it is so true when they say you blink and you miss it. She has lived so much in her short life that it is heartbreaking and inspiring. She is so strong even in her weakness. I am constantly inspired by her and her tenacity, but I digress.

Our original plans got demolished by mother nature, so we did the next best thing. Lunch and play time at her favorite lunch stop, Chick Fli' A, followed gifts and cake at home.

She requested a strawberry Minnie Mouse cake and I did my best, but I think their cupcakes turned out much better! The girls has such a blast helping me make them and then frosting them, it was so fun to watch. Loo couldn't quite wrap her head around the fact that none of Ames' gifts were for her. Thankfully Ames shared with her...a little.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl! I can't wait to see how much you grow this year.

Since you're still around you should pop on over to my girl Candice's Blog and she what she is up to!

P52- 49 Ornament Making

This week has been slow yet entire hectic in our house. I think things are finally ready for Christmas, but I am soo not ready for my baby girl to turn 4 next week. Where did the time go? And the cuddles?! I miss the cuddles.... But back to this week.

One of the fun new activities we added to our Christmas season traditions was ornament making! Thank heavens for Hobby Lobby for having fun, easy, clean crafts for them! The best part? They had a total blast. I think will be a tradition we might keep over the years!

When you're done here you should join me over at Candice's Blog to see what they did this week!

P52- 48 First Snow Fall in Lacey, WA!

We had a wonderful surprise this week. Amidst all the rushing around preparing for Christmas and Ames's birthday, the girls were given their first sight of snow!! I know I wrote earlier about our trip up to Rainier where they experienced their first of taste of snow, but until yesterday they had never actually seen it fall. They just thought it lived on the mountain like the trees!

They were ecstatic to find out that it fell from the sky like rain! It took a lot of convincing to get them back in the house even though they were shivering like crazy.

Go on over to Candice's blog to see what was going in her next of the woods this week!

P52- 47 Thanksgiving

Ahh Thanksgiving...One of my absolutely favorite holidays! Really any holiday that inspires family gatherings, good food and sharing the love in our hearts is my favorite. I have to admit this was probably one of my favorite Thanksgivings so far.

We arrived at my parents in Oregon Wednesday evening expecting for it to just be us and my step-mom since Dad would already be at work, but we walked into a wonderful surprise! My Uncles and Aunts traveled all the way from Utah with a couple of my cousins in tow without telling anyone! Best surprise ever!

The normal Telford traditions of lots of laughs, chatting late into the night and snacking ensued. I nearly botched the pumpkin pie and set off the fire alarm three different times, although that one was not entirely my fault. lol Thankfully not EVERYONE was there to witness it since it was so late.

Thanksgiving morning dawned slowly for everyone until the little got up and encouraged them. There was so much fun going on it's hard to pick out the parts that stood out the most. I would say though that it was probably when we sat down for dinner. After the prayer was offered we settled and started a new tradition. It is actually one borrowed from my step-mom's family and one I had been wanting to do for awhile now....Giving Thanks!

I know vague much, but that is basically what we did. Each person told us two things that we were thankful for. The overall them was our family, this great country and the freedoms it affords and our love for each other. There was not a dry eye when it was Grandma's turn and she talked about Grandpa. This is the first Thanksgiving since he passed, but we saved a seat for him. I know he would have loved having us all together again.

Thanks for stopping by! Now that you have heard all about my week you should check out what my girls Candice was up to!
