I will be honest I had never intended to dive into the senior world. I am not sure why, but they have always intimated me. Maybe it's because I was a total wallflower in high school. This session though...it has changed everything!

Originally I was going to be doing a couple session for Brenden's parents, but we had to postpone it for the foreseeable future. When she suggested I shoot his senior session I was skeptical, but agreed. I am soo glad I did.

I want y'all to meet this stellar guy. His name is Brenden aka Brendo. He is my first senior here in the PNW and totally inspiring. We had brainstormed a few ideas of what do and decided on his track practice, which is perfect considering he is big into health and sports. He loves going to local baseball games with his family and plays on the football and track teams for his school.

Watching Brenden as he went about his practice was revealing. I have come to have a lot of respect for this young man! His momma raised a good one. ;)

One of the first things we talked about, when planning his session, was how he wasn't the fastest on the team, and that he was okay with it, because it's about more then just that. It's about the team, the friendship and your personal best. His drive and determination to do his best was readily evident with the way he approached their "easy day".

His dedication to the sport, to himself and his health just radiated off him. Yes he talked and laugh with his teammates and had a good time, but when it came time to do the drills he made them count and became singularly focused. Being the health conscious guy that he is, he also made sure to stretch in between each one. There is no question he stood out from the rest of the group.

We talked briefly about college and what he wanted to do with his life and I was impressed yet again. He is currently trying to narrow down his university choice (hard to do when you were accepted to 5 different amazing schools ;) )and wanting to go into nursing. The sense of purpose that I felt from him was amazing to experience.

I may have only gotten to talk to him for a short time, but I can tell you that he has a good heart, a sharp mind and a drive that will take him places. I am VERY excited to see what his influence on this world will be and the legacy he will leave in his wake.
