Good morning y'all! I am so excited to share this post this week. It's not too often that I get to attend shootouts with my amazing club of photographers and it was only fitting that I got to attend one last one right before we leave the island. What is a shootout you ask? Well it varies a little depending on who is leading it, but it is a learning experience. A chance to stretch ourselves, think outside our genre and learn something new or in some cases share our knowledge with others. Generally there is one lead photographer, at least one model and several other photographers eager to join in the fun.
This month the theme was glamour maternity at sunrise and boy was it A-MAZ-ING! The sunrise alone was worth getting up that early!
A quick peak of my lovely friends before the shoot got underway! I am so glad I go this shot.
Once the shootout got under way things started happening real fast, the way they always do. We actually had four models this time around, two individual mommas-to-be and a couple. In order to maximize our light we broke up into three groups with different lead photographers and went to work.
I worked with this gorgeous couple first and I think the longest. I was so drawn to them and the love that radiated out from them like the sun.
They were so amazing and willing to do just about anything it was hard to pull myself away and move on to the next model!
Boy was I glad that I did though! This momma-to-be blew my mind away! We didn't start off in the water, but when it was suggested that she get a little wet she was all for it and took it even further! I became her biggest fan in that moment.
Once again I had a hard time pulling myself away from this stunning gal, but I notice momma #3 standing there waiting to be shot and I had to pounce. This beauty could not be left to stand alone as our window to shoot faded! I have a thing for colored hair and tattoos, so I was giddy happy when I saw this momma. I think I actually squealed when I got close enough to see the colors in her hair!
I had soo much fun during this shoot that I was on a high for the rest of the day!
I can not say enough about my tribe of photographers that I have gathered in such a short time while living on the island. The most amazing thing to me is how much they go above and beyond to help each other out and help each other see their true worth and potential. That is a rare find in our industry and something I will treasure forever.
